Common questions on defence-grade EMM and security
What is the difference between MDM, EMM and UEM?
MDM manages the device (inventory, policies, wipe). EMM adds applications, content, identity and advanced security. UEM extends the scope to computers and other endpoints. Samsung SDS EMM is an EMM platform with UEM capabilities for Android, iOS and, according to the manufacturer, Windows.
Does Blindium sell only the software?
Blindium sells an EMM platform and the service that makes it operational in demanding environments: assessment, architecture, on-prem or cloud deployment, VPN and encryption configuration, training and support. The client decides the scope.
How long does a deployment take?
A pilot is completed in four to six weeks. A full deployment depends on the size of the fleet, the integrations and the model (on-prem or cloud); three to nine months is typical.
What about devices that are not Samsung?
They are managed from the same console with the standard capabilities of Android Enterprise or iOS/iPadOS. The additional Knox controls apply only to Galaxy devices.
How is the platform licensed?
Per managed device, on a subscription or perpetual licence basis depending on the deployment model. The terms are detailed in the proposal following the assessment.
Can our own administrators operate the console?
Yes. This is the usual model in defence and public administration: Blindium implements, trains and documents; the agency operates. A managed service model is also possible where the accreditation allows it.
Does this website use third-party services?
No. It loads no third-party fonts, scripts or analytics and uses technical cookies only. It is the same principle we apply to the platforms we deploy.
